The Nearly Deads sign to Standby Records!

Tampa, FL rockers The Nearly Deads have signed with Standby Records and will release their new Zombie Survival Guide EP on August 20th.

Fresh off a Converse Battle of the Bands win at the Journey’s Backyard BBQ in Nashville, TN, and a #14 spot on the Billboard Next Big Sound Chart, The Nearly Deads are primed and ready to explode. The Nashville-based DIY band has created a buzz of their very own, mixing the polished pop vocals of singer Theresa Jeane with aggressive grunge-inspired instrumentals of Steve Tobi, Cory Walen, Kevin Koelsch, and Brandon Barnes. The Nearly Deads have managed to create a truly unique genre that not only gives a nod to gritty grunge, but brings it back in a way never heard before. Imagine Kelly Clarkson as front-woman of the Foo Fighters.

The band caused a stir when the music video for their song “Never Look Back” led to a viral outbreak, resulting in over 3 million views on YouTube. That buzz continues to grow every day, partly due to the social networking prowess of the band members themselves. The Deads are truly connected to their fans, and they have built up a “zombie nation” of die-hard supporters. The band has already played two of the world’s largest musical festivals, Summerfest and the Vans Warped Tour, and they have no intention of slowing down.

The Zombie EP was produced and recorded with Nashville producer Jon King (Augustana, 3 Pill Morning, Throwing Gravity) who also recorded their previous EP.

In a statement to fans, the band says, “We were very excited when Neil (Sheehan, founder of Standby) initially approached us about signing with Standby Records. We are a driven band and we only work with people who have the same passion for our music as we do. After hearing everything Standby had to offer and their vision for our band, we were convinced that it was the right move. Standby respects all the hard work we’ve done as an independent band, and they respect our fans! We believe signing will help us reach a level that we could not reach on our own. They have a dedicated and talented team, and we look forward to working with them. We can’t wait to take this journey, and we are so lucky to be a part of the Standby family!”

Picture Me Broken “Torture” Video Premiere!

The video arrives in anticipation of the band’s upcoming monthlong trek supporting Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson on their Shock Therapy 2013 Tour. Check out all the tour dates directly below the video.

“Lyrically, ‘Torture’ allowed me to create a vision for a video with a strong message as the lyrics are so personal and true to me,” Allman says. “Many directors told me I couldn’t possibly execute that vision with the budget I was working with, but Patrick came to me eager and excited to make it happen one way or another. And the finished product came out even more thorough and elaborate than expected.”

Directed by Patrick Fogarty (Black Veil Brides, Gypsyhawk) and filmed at the NYGARD building in New York City’s Times Square, the “Torture” video shows the musical and creative vision of 20-year-old frontwoman Layla “Brooklyn” Allman and the power of this rare two-guitar, four-piece band that was chosen to support one of this summer’s biggest, darkest and loudest tours. The band is rounded out by Dante Phoenix, Jimmy Strimpel and Shaun Foist. The video was produced by Patrick Fogarty Productions (Vincent Palomino, Jon Gordon McKenzie); the executive producer was Robert Thorpe, and the line producer was Laurel Parmet.

Bruised but Not Broken signs to Standby Records!

Charlotte, NC metalcore 5-piece, Bruised But Not Broken have signed with Standy Records and will release their debut EP digitally on 5/21. Although the members are only 15 and 16 years old, they are hitting the scene with a unique blend of hard-hitting metalcore with a techno twist that is captivating crowds every show they play.

Front man Hudson Hower says, “Simply saying that we are ‘excited’ would be an understatement. We’re beyond blessed to be teaming up with the guys at Standby. These are some of the hardest working guys you’ll ever see in the industry, and we are hoping to match and honor that work ethic. The “Just(defied)” EP release is coming in the next couple of weeks, and we are hoping to push it as a solidified foundation of our future to come with Standby Records. Come July, we’re going into the studio to record our first full-length album. The future of this industry is coming quickly, and Standby is about to imprint themselves as forerunners in the upcoming music field. As we said, we’re just getting started. This is only The Beginning.”
